Children's Mental Health Week
Children’s Mental Health Week this year, follows the theme Find Your Brave. We wanted to try some activities with our little ones that followed the theme and also gave our children the opportunities to discuss their thoughts and feelings. Children’s mental health and well being is such an important topic and these activities can be adapted to suit older or younger children.
A simple activity linked to The Snail and the Whale. Giving children the opportunity to think about when they have “found their brave!”
This wonderful small world literacy activity is based in the story ‘The Lion Inside’ by Rachel Bright and Jim Field. My son knows this story very well and is it a regular in our bedtime routine. This is a wonderful story and activity to increase self esteem and demonstrates what is possible if you are brave.
A wonderful sensory activity to encourage children and preschoolers to learn and talk about their emotions.
A simple activity to create a tin of happy things for your little ones to look at when they are worried.
Using The Snail and the Whale story to create a small world all around the children’s mental health week topic of “Find your brave”.
