Love Hearts
Inspired by the beautiful book Under the Love Umbrella by Davina Bell we decided to create our own heart decorations to hang around the house. We used bits from our November Love Activity Box and was a lovely easy and calm activity to do altogether.
Set up:
This was very easy to set up . I quickly drew and then cut out some hearts from the cardboard box that our activity kit came in. I also used the tissue paper, lolly stick and glue from the Love Activity box.
Both of mine were keen to get going with this. Ripping and scrunching tissue paper is brilliant for strengthening fingers which in turn is great for writing and drawing. I sat and helped them rip and scrunch with my cup of tea and it became a very calm and relaxing activity. Before long we were chatting about various things and it was a really lovely way to spend some time together.
They were both so proud of their creations. And M decided to make hers double sided and covered the back as well. F who often struggles with crafts and then wants mummy to do hers for her kept going by herself and I love her decoration for that very reason that it was all her own work and she was proud of it. More than just creating a lovely little simple craft this activity was about us having some mindful time together.
