Leaf Lantern
This beautiful, winter craft from our November Subscription box is an easy activity to try with kids at home. Perfect for getting outdoors too and enjoying all the different autumn leaves!
Set Up:
For this easy autumnal craft I just used the glue pot, wooden lolly stick and tissue paper from our November activity box. I also found some glass jars that I collected and cleaned once we were finished with them. We then also headed outside to collect some leaves. We found that the ones that worked best were those that were not too dry and crispy yet!
First we snipped and ripped the leaves into smaller pieces. This is such a great work out for little fingers. Then it was time to get gluing again. It was easiest to cover a large area of the jar in the glue in one go and then add the leaves on. A good layer of glue is needed to get them to stay on! Then we also added small pieces of the pink tissue paper to fill in the gaps.
Then we carefully covered the entire jar with another layer of glue to ensure everything stayed glued on. Finally it was time to add the tealight and get cosied up watching the colours illuminated through the jar. The girls were so proud of the creations and it was the perfect activity for these wintry feeling afternoons!
