Blossom

Finally we have blossom on our trees in the garden and on our road. On our daily exercise bike ride around the block, my son often stops to point at the blossom, so I wanted him to make a piece of art work that reflected the change in our trees.

I have always been a fan of children creating their own art work with minimal help and prompting from an adult. This art activity is simple and quick to set up and enables the child or toddler to have complete artistic freedom. I love what my son has created and it will be sent in the post to his Grandparents who I am sure will also love it!

Set Up

For this spring activity I used the tree outline from our April box. If you have bought our April box please send us an email and we can email you through a copy of the tree outline for you to print at home.

We don’t have any pink paint so I mixed red and white paint together. The original idea was for my son to use his fingers to paint the blossom on but he was unsure of this idea. So I put out individual cotton buds and using a rubber band I grouped five cotton buds together.

As you can see my son created a mixture of marks using the cotton wool buds. He drew and dabbed the paint around the tree. This was his art work and it was his choice how he created his spring art.
