Spring Tree Fingerprints

Fingerprint art activities is always a hit with my two children. Using these ink pads means that mess is kept to a minimal and it doesn’t require much set up. This activity links to our theme of the changes in our trees and after seeing the new leaves beginning to grow on the trees outside the girls were keen to get started.

Tree Art Activity for Kids

Set Up

For this easy art activity I used the fingerprint ink pad and the tree outline from our Changing Trees Activity box. Any green ink pads or even green paint would work well too.

F could not wait to get started with this and needed instructions. Off they both went stamping away. Whilst they did the activity I asked F where the leaves were growing on the branches or on the floor? This prompted her to then aim her fingerprints on the branches of the tree. M was being very particular with her leaves and initially wanted to ensure that there was a space around each finger print. So again I reminded her of the leaves we had seen on the tree, were they all spaced out individually?

Finger Print Kids Art Idea

This easy art activity was such a hit. I love their finished works of art and they are both so proud of them. I also love that fact that they are covered in their finger prints and will make such a great keep sake for years to come. They both have been desperate to do this activity again and so will be using this simple art idea to make some gifts for grandparents next!
