Fireworks
Inspired by ‘Under the Love Umbrella’ written by Davina Bell, this is a simple sensory rice activity to encourage children and toddlers to use exciting adjectives, recognise colours, shapes and to celebrate Guy Fawkes night.
Set Up
For this activity I used the black paper and the three different coloured sensory rice from our November 'Love’ activity box. I placed the black paper inside a tray (just to contain the rice) and added different wooden scopes and the paint brush from our June ‘At the Seaside’ activity box.
For this activity I sat back, watched and asked questions which were included on the activity card. When I did want to make my own fireworks, I was informed to “move my hands AWAY!”
My son thoroughly enjoyed this activity and it was one that we have continually revisited together.
