Shape Puzzle
This is a simple to set up maths game to teach toddlers and preschoolers their shapes. If you don’t have any shapes or building blocks at home you can use real like objects such as plates, books, spoons, forks….
Set Up
For this shape activity for toddlers, I simply sellotaped a big piece of paper onto our kitchen floor. This was brown packaging paper courtesy of Amazon. Using a felt tip I drew around a selection of my son’s building blocks. And we were ready to play and learn.
This maths activity kept my son entertained and learning throughout the afternoon as he dipped in and out of it. I made sure to name all the different shapes as he was putting them down into their corresponding drawing.
When we were finished I simply rolled up the puzzle and put it safe for another day.
