Fine Motor Skills

When talking about fine motor skills we mean the refined used of the small muscles in the hand which control the palm, fingers and thumb.

These skills develop naturally over time and can be supported by exploring toys and activities which support building on this small muscle. Like any muscle, these small muscles in the hand need to be built up to develop strength and dexterity. Working on activities which support the development of your mini humans’ fine motor skills will enable them to become more independent in eating their dinner, getting dressed and one day being able to use a pen to write,

Our suggested activities are all easy and quick to set up and can be left out for your mini human to explore whilst you make dinner or have a well-earned cup of tea.
