Valentine's Sensory Play
Sensory play remains one of my favourite activities to do with my son. Not only are these types of activities visually very appealing to young eyes but sensory play has so many benefits from developing communication skills, independence, motor skills and thinking skills. The colours of Valentine’s day can inspire so many different sensory play set ups. So here is one of favourite Valentine's sensory play ideas.
Set Up
This was a quick and easy Valentine's sensory play activity to set up. The base of the activity is plain rice and inside the biscuit cutters I added different red and pink sensory resources; dyed red rice, pink and white sugared pearls and pink hearts. The gold hearts I had from a previous Valentine’s activity.
To get us in the mood and to make it a multi-sensory experience I played a love song playlist from Spotify.
When my son first saw this Valentine's sensory play set up he spent a good amount of time just staring at it.
This was such a wonderful Valentine's sensory activity to do together. We chatted as we played and explored about what we could see, hear and feel.
